We built the room
that didn't exist
In 2017 designers here worked in isolation — a few in agencies, a few in startups, most teaching themselves. There was no room where a researcher from Karachi, a professor from Lahore and a product designer building a payments app could sit together for two days.
UX Pakistan started as that room, and has run as a non-profit under Design for Pakistan ever since — carried by volunteers, universities and speakers who paid their own way to be here.
A decade later, the room is a community.
Run by Design for Pakistan with no commercial owner. Ticket revenue goes back into the next edition and into student access.
Not only UX and digital products. Public services, education, healthcare and craft belong in the same conversation.
Volunteers, universities and speakers who fund their own travel. The conference exists because people keep showing up.
